The Jester Cat

There are spirits who guide those who are lost, and then there is the Jester Cat. Once a loyal familiar, this strange creature lost his human protégé to an inquisition, and the resulting trauma rendered the spirit insane. It is said that if a traveler were to come across this spirit’s totem statue, they would be able to summon the Jester Cat and ask him questions, since he was widely regarded as a massive wealth of information. Unfortunately, he was also both unpredictable and prone to have “a bit of fun” with his summoners in exchange for secret knowledge, which meant that he would often task such purveyors to complete strange, idiotic quests which were often either very risky at best, or most amusing to the cat, and therefore quite humiliating to the bearer of questions, at worst.
